Transfer STEM Student Analysis.This research project focused on better understanding STEM student achievement among transfer students at UNM. Partners: STEM UP Program. Project start date: Spring 2014. Project completion date: January, 2015. This study will be continued to further understand early indicators of transfer student success. Shortened report.

Key Performance Indicator Analysis. This analysis attempted to identify short-term measures that correlate to graduation. The results of this analysis will allow UNM administrators to monitor the expected impact of specific interventions on STEM graduation, without having to wait four years for graduation rates. The experiences of UNM Hispanic students in STEM programs. Qualitative study of STEM education as experienced and reported by Hispanic students previously enrolled at UNM. Grade Distribution Report in UNM MyReports (DataMart project). Restricted-access query that shows grade distributions for individual course sections, disaggregate by ethnicity. Project start date: Spring 2013. Project completion date: January 2014. Small tweaks and adjustments are ongoing. Query has been made available to members of the STEM Gateway Course Reform Council.

Stop, Switch or Graduate: Undergraduate STEM Degree Completion Patterns at UNM. Exploration of the following questions: How do undergraduate students who graduate with STEM degrees differ from those who switch majors out of STEM, and from those who stop attending UNM prior to completing their degrees? How do undergraduate STEM students perform in the core math & science gateway courses that lead into their STEM degrees? Project start date: Spring 2012. Project completion date: February, 2014. Predictors of student success in General Physics. Analysis of college and pre-college student variables that influence success in PHYC 160. Project start date: Fall 2012. Course-on-Course Impact Report for MATH 121. This report was developed as a proof of concept for the course-on-course impact model. It shows the student impact of MATH 121 sections on subsequent courses. Project start date: Fall 2013. Project completion date: February, 2014. Math Course Completion and STEM Degrees at UNM. Analysis of math courses taken by students who earned STEM bachelor's degrees at UNM. Project start date: Spring 2012. Project completion date: July 2012. This report is available publicly here.

MATH 121 Co-Enrollment Report for Learning Community Planning. Summary of which courses students are also enrolled in while taking MATH 121. Project start date: Fall 2013. Project completion date: October 2013. This report was released internally to the Dean of University College.

STEM Gateway Core Courses and Student Characteristics.

Analysis of average student characteristics for each STEM gateway core course, including such variables as ACT composite score, ACT math score, high school GPA, current UNM courseload, UNM credits completed prior, and co-enrolled courses.
